  Enjoyed my time at the Bala Bay Inn. The staff were great and were quick to help with any request. The food was yummy. The rooms were serviceable and air conditioned.

  Knock the place down and re-build. This place is well past it's use by date.
  I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the TRAINS - all night long, freight trains almost rattled the place off its foundations.
  We had a wedding there and everything was great, for the wedding. Rooms, not so good.

  Too expensive for what it was on a long weekend. Bad insulation as there were bugs in the rooms. Our AC units exhaust kept coming out of the window even after staff tried to fix it.
  
  Very nice staff though, food took a bit long but was amazing!

  Awful!!! Don't even want to give it 1 star. This USED to be a great restaurant but not any more. Visited when they had buffet night and a couple of our party tried it out, the barbecue chicken was black, cold and dry, the chicken balls were so hard you couldn't cut them, the samosa, contained burnt peas and potatoes and were so oil laden they dripped, the mixed veggies were onions and something that used to be green and you can buy better pizza from your local grocery store. We were told the bread pudding was very good but after sampling, it tasted like dough balls with a faint banana flavour. You really have to feel sorry for the waitresses.
  Owners . . . you HAD a gem, PLEASE try and fix before it's too late.

  we went up to Bala for our annual Thanksgiving Blue Rodeo show. This was the first time staying at the hotel - in the past we have stayed at a motel and bed and breakfast.
  The hotel room was small, but suited our needs, as we were only staying one night. I read some of the reviews regarding the rooms prior to going, so knew they would be small - The room had a fairly large bathroom. Water temp kept varying though from really hot to really cold - It helped to wake me up!
  People have complained about the TV being small, but honestly who cares - you aren't up there to hang in your room and watch TV.
  Bala is a really nice little town with a lot of hiking trails. Well worth the visit.
  Our only disappointment was that the bar was closed down after the concert and there wasn't anything to do. I'm not sure why they closed the bar down early? Everyone staying there was looking for a place to go after the concert.
